Dr Janine Doughty

Janine is a partner at Crown Bank Dental and dentist seeing children for their first visits. Janine has a warm and friendly approach to treating children and will ensure your child leaves smiling!

Janine’s clinical background includes working with adults and children with anxieties and/or special educational needs in primary, secondary and tertiary care, including the internationally renowned centre of excellence, the Eastman Dental Institute. Janine is trained in hypnotherapy and sedation techniques. She leads the Crown Bank Dental “kids team”, ensuring the highest standard of dentistry for children attending the practice. Janine also oversees the patient advisory group for the practice and our educational events.

Since graduating in 2010, Janine has pursued her passion to be at the forefront of improving patients’ whole health. She has a masters and a PhD in public health and has published close to 30 articles in leading dental journals. Janine has introduced health screening to the practice, a service she has written about in the British Dental Journal and featured in the Daily Mail (as well as 18 other newspapers around the world).

In addition to her clinical role at the practice Janine is a clinical lecturer at the University of Liverpool.

Janine has twice been a finalist best young dentist and was awarded as one of Dentistry’s Fast Track 4 – a collection of the most promising young dentists in the country. Janine has won numerous awards including the Hooper endodontic prize, SAAD essay prize, BAOS SHO open paper prize, BASCD poster prize, distinctions in each of her postgraduate qualifications and a fully funded competitive entry PhD from the

National Institute of Health Research (awarded with no corrections required).
